PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS ENDOW SCHOLARSHIP

The Professional Engineers of North Carolina (PENC) announces the awarding of the 2017 PENC Scholarship. The scholarship supports engineering students from North Carolina at ABET accredited engineering schools in North Carolina.
Ms. Arianna Safon, of Apex, NC received the scholarship. Elizabeth is a rising junior in Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering at East Carolina University. Elizabeth has an outstanding GPA, had great recommendations from her professors and engineering mentors on projects/classwork and was noted as being an active member of several different engineering clubs. After going through several knee surgeries, Arianna has a passion for helping others with mobility issues and wants to work with wounded warriors and to open her own prosthetic company.
The scholarship is funded through an endowment established by the PENC Educational Foundation. The PENC Educational Foundation was established to raise and administer funds to promote engineering education, fund its endowments and promote engineering education. PENC is a state society member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. The mission of PENC is to promote ethical, competent and licensed engineers and to enhance the professional, social and economic wellbeing of its members.
